About May Shahid
With over 26 years of experience in the ever-changing landscape of Canadian Immigration, I am proud to say that I continue to facilitate immigration each and every single day. Since 1992, I have had extensive experience in liaising with the government and the client, regardless of immigration category; from Business Class applicants to Entrepreneurs, all the way to Caregivers and Spousal Sponsors. I have seen many Ministers of Citizenship and Immigration, from the likes of Sergio Marchi, to the controversial Jason Kenney, right up to the current Minister Ahmed Hussain. Subsequently, I have been a member in good standing with both the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) and also the current Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC).
As an active member on the board of the Iranian Canadian Association of Immigration Consultants (ICAIC), I served as a vital piece of the non-profit organization, while maintaining healthy relationships with all members and partners. My experience in the ICAIC is very unique in that I have served as a board member during a few different periods, while also being just a regular member during other periods. This experience of being both a board member and a regular member has allowed me to understand the needs of both of the organization of ICAIC, while also understanding the needs of the many members of the organization.
In acting as a member of the board of ICAIC, I have built many strong relationships and partnerships with other immigration organizations, law firms, financial intermediaries, social platforms, news mediums, provincial representatives, members of parliament etc. My tenure with the ICAIC has allowed me to explore the many immigration programs Canada wide, in all provinces and territories. This experience has allowed me to share with other members the more attractive programs, depending on the applicants’ residence, qualifications etc. Through partnerships with hosts of CPD approved activities, we have been able to provide ongoing insight and knowledge to the constantly changing Canadian immigration programs.
I strive to continue to provide service to the immigration community, specifically those involved with ICAIC; it is my duty as a member.
